You’ll be managing 20 highly skilled technicians producing highly complex mechanical mechanisms for aerospace applications
Some of these assemblies comprise of up to 300 parts and take 6 days to complete, including inspection and test at multiple stages of production
Your background is probably from a time served apprenticeship with experience in managing skilled engineering production staff covering areas such as setting performance expectations, reviews, appraisals, disciplinaries and training needs analysis – Crucially you need to be comfortable in having uncomfortable conversations.
You need to be conversant with engineering drawings, interpreting technical & manufacturing data, identify trends, solve unexpected problems and manage priorities.
