The Test Department Planning Engineer is a key member of the Aerospace / Defence Test group . Supports the Test Manager in facilitating the timely delivery of testing activities through careful planning, resource management and utilisation.

This will extend to supporting the sourcing and management of suitable third party test facilities where required by the business.

Work closely with all Engineering teams within the department, and external stakeholders in Programmes to ensure work is completed at the right time and in the right order (prioritisation) by using project planning and work scheduling tools.

To collect, analyse and present data to report on performance, make recommendations for actions to improve.

Comply with procedures and instructions relating to H&S issues; participate in H&S training , promote a safety culture in the department.

Produce work plans and coordinating the activities of ET personnel and equipment in order to support the testing needs of the business and its Customers.

Work closely with internal customers to ensure work is scheduled in line with business priorities.

You must possess highly developed communication skills: able to communicate verbally, in presentation format and in writing at senior level.
A good planner of own work and that of others.

Understands how to prioritise and schedule tasks.

Strong with project scheduling and critical path analysis.
Extensive data analysis skills and ability to present data clearly.
Thorough understanding of modern Environmental Test Departments within Aero /Defence methods to US MIL STD / UK Def. Stan.
